Blogging

Over the past couple of months, Wordophilia has had a few really interesting discussions, some nice reviews and a few questions. Strangely, though, I get few requests. I've had a couple of notes asking for more in the vein of the Common Mistakes post and a couple asking for similar things with funky words to use.

However, the most frequent request I've had has been for a series on blogging: what it is, the different types, how to blog, styles used and that kind of thing. Now, I'm not one to refuse people asking for tips and thoughts, but it seems to me that there are already an enormous number of resources out there covering exactly this content.

Take Orble, for instance. Not only is it home to the Blog Adviser and Blogging Tips, but it also has Bloggercises and even a Mentoring Program!

So I'm a little confused, I guess. Do we really need another person spouting their opinion about blog writing - especially one like me?! I'd be interested to hear opinions. Don't be shy, tell me to shut up if you think I should - as I always say, I have four older brothers: it's almost impossible to offend me!

You are the youngest of five boys? Ha! I am the oldest of three boys and, boy, do I know how to talk to you in future!

Seriously, if you have an inclination to write about blogging, I urge you to do so. For a start, you won't be short of readers. In a blogging community, everyone is interested in a fresh take on blogging. It's like a fresh pair of eyes describing the Mona Lisa, or a stage director trying to give a new perspective to Shakespeare.

Now get to it, kid.
