Visiting With Friends

May 25th 2009 08:21
I thought I'd drop in and say "Hello", since I've been away at my new home for a while now. It's been pretty successful: the freelancing's picked up, the site's doing well and things are moving along nicely.

Why not drop in and see what's new? I'll bring the coffee if you bring the biscuits.

Return To Sender

April 29th 2009 18:06
After a great deal of effort, a good slapping for an online freelancing site and an interminable wait, I'm finally able to announce the new home of Wordophilia. Yes, I'm moving. I'm afraid all the back-biting annoyed the hell out of me and, particularly since this domain name is a threatened entity, I figured I'd shuffle away sooner rather than later.

Qwerk.com is staying.

Anyway, for anyone interested, I will now be posting over at ScrawlBug, my own domain.

Absence

Yes, I've not been around for a while. Why?

Things like this comments thread and this whole pointless load of childishness (not Damo's post, but the crap that caused it

Changes

April 12th 2009 22:59
A short pause today, while I redesign the site a bit. Hope you like the new look: the old one was a bit too boring for my liking.

I've also taken some time to sit and think about the purpose of Wordophilia as well - or, to use a putrid marketing phrase, to define a mission statement. Thank the Gods I have a muse at home with whom I can discuss this stuff: she always inspires me. It's nice to be able to put into words what I'd like to be doing here

Fun With Grammar

April 7th 2009 23:27

Just for a change, I thought I'd post some amusingly bad advertising. Well, amusing for Grammar Nazis like myself, that is. Enjoy the pics - and read the bit at the bottom.

This is not me.

Just a short post to welcome Laura to Orble: a fellow MyLotter who has (like most of us) had some disappointing experiences with blogging sites before and has opted to join the Orble family!

The Eternal Circle

Recycling Symbol

Every now and then, life seems to go full-circle. It does it without warning, without any kind of indication that it's about to hand you a counterfeit bill. You just find yourself standing there, dumbstruck, while life wanders away again, chuckling mischievously to itself.

Just A Quickie

March 3rd 2009 00:31
Very quick post today, as I have been fighting an appalling lack of wireless signal today. Hopefully it's sorted and will be back to normal shortly.

For the moment, I've only managed to update the monthly earnings blog for February. Pathetic, I know, but it's hard to do much when I get 10kb of download every twenty minutes. I'll try to be all profound and intelligent on the morrow.

Do as you're told!

You'll have to forgive the awful pun (and the image from costumebuy.net). The new traffic stats email just arrived from the Orble Gods and I've been looking at where most of the visits have been. You know, all that link analysis and other funky stuff.

Head Cold

February 17th 2009 00:27
The beast is within me now. It sits behind my eyes, burning the retinas, making me blink painfully and forcing me to focus more than usual on each word as it flickers onto the screen.

Since the first waking moment of the day, it has fed on my essence, growing stronger, larger, heavier with every passing hour. It seeks to fill all the corners of my head, those private places of musing; to fill them with its thick, mucus-like secretions, inhibiting thought and slowing my movements. It begins to spread its dark influence further, working down into my neck, my throat, scratching and clawing at my larynx
