Abducted by Aliens

Oh dear. I knew it was going to happen. as soon as I did that piece on the history of Area 51. Yup, it started my fingers twitching, the little green men popping into my head and the anal probe... er, no, maybe not that.
I've always had a bit of a thing for the unusual. I love ghost stories and pseudo-proof videos of weird things. I love alien stories, visitors from other planets, Bigfoot (not in a freezer), Nessie and all those fun things that people claim to have seen. In fact, I grew up in a UK hot-spot for UFO sightings, even though I've never had the fortune to see one myself.
I keep an open mind and a sceptical sense of humour with all this, of course, since taking it too seriously is the short route to paranoia and other problems. Like the guy I was at University with, who covered his entire room with aluminium foil so that the government guys couldn't spy on him with their infrared cameras. I kid you not.
Anyway, I love all that stuff and, after that first piece, I thought I'd do another. Someone had already summed up Roswell really well, so I went for The Rendlesham Incident instead. I've never lived close to there, but it's one heck of a story.
I have this sneaking suspicion that my writing's going to take a turn for the supernatural, just for a while. We'll see.
In other news, I've been applying for jobs at the Freelancer site I mentioned before, but haven't won any bids yet. So no news on whether it's reliable. Helium's still my top earner at the moment, with about $60 in December, which I'm really pleased with, especially since that was my first month. It's not exactly a salary yet, but I'm working on it.
